While the science of better sleep continues to gain mass media attention, it’s no wonder that with attention comes quite a few misconceptions. C|Net.com explored the facts, fictions, and urban legends surrounding slumber in a recent article by Amanda Capritto.
For example, did Einstein really sleep 10 hours a day? Turns out he did, but Nikola Tesla claimed to have never slept for more than two hours at a time. “What’s especially strange is that sometimes sleep comes easy and sometimes it takes hours to fall asleep; sometimes you toss and turn and sometimes you wake up in the same position you started in,” writes Capritto. “Sometimes you remember your dreams and sometimes you don’t. Those aren’t the only weird things about sleep — these quirky sleep facts will make you raise an eyebrow.”
