Is it possible a whole year has passed since the NYU course…following is the agenda for this year. I heard good things about this meeting last year. There is also a very good likelihood that it will be possible to meet your favorite SleepScholar editor there…
The American Academy of Sleep Medicine, a physician led academically founded academy for the advancement of sleep in the U.S., has recommended the use of oral appliances as a primary treatment for mild and moderate obstructive sleep apnea. This has become the standard of practice and the parameter of care yet few dentists have University based training from board certified sleep specialists. This course exposes the dentist to a multidisciplinary ENT, Pulmonary, Dental algorithm of diagnosis and treatment ideally suited to the snoring and apneic patient. A combination of lecture, demonstration and hands on training over 6 days allows the dentist an immersion which is difficult to attain in a weekend lecture setting. Our faculty is nationally reknowned.
